Open atelier: Portrait of Federica.

On Friday 28 October 2011 I visited the open atelier "portrait" at SAKB.

Federica Dauri, the Italian dancer whom I drew earlier this year, posed for us.
See also my article dated June 25, 2011: "Workshop: To draw the movement of two dancers."

Now her hair was cut super short! A real challenge such an almost uncovered head.
The forms of her face therefore come forward very well.

During the 2 poses of 1 hour each, the portrait had to be finished. Mine was finished for about 90%.
During the poses I only worked with charcoal on paper.

At home I have added some last details. In this stage I’ve worked with charcoal and also used pastel. For the portrait I’ve used the colours black and white, for the background I’ve used light grey, light grey-green and white.

Next time I will also take a photo of the posed position as a guid. That gives me also the opportunity to show you the “live” model.
