Presentation of the awards at Amazing Amateurs

On Sunday Juli 22, 2012 the following awards will be presentated:

1. The KCA Amateur Award
2. The Adience Award

Thursday till Sunday from 14:00 - 17:00 o'clock.

Group Exhibition: "Amazing Amateurs"

It's the first time that I participate in a group exhibition. The preparing is different and you have to trust the organizer.
In this case "Kunst en Cultuur Aalsmeer" also known as "KCA". They are well known for organizing exhibitions.

The exhibition is called: "Amazing Amateurs".

On June 15, 2012, everything must be ready and I have to deliver my paintings.
I've given myself the freedom to decide at the very last moment, which paintings I will bring in. Despite this I roughly know what it's going to be.

On June 23, 2012 at 16:00 the festive opening of the exhibition will take place. You are welcome to come too. Entrance is free.

I am very curious about the other works of art and the makers of it.

Voting for the Audience Award:

Until Friday Juli 20, 2012, you can vote on your favorite ar to adjust who has to get the Audience Award.


Presentation of the Awards:

On Sunday July 22, 2012 at 15:00 the 2 Awards will be presentated:

1. the KCA Amateur Award
2. the Audience Award.

End of the exhibition:

After that the exhibition can be visited until Sunday Juli 29, 2012.

Thanx to everyone who has visited my exhibition "Ode aan". Today, at the end of the afternoon, I've ended my exhibition. I've got some beautiful compliments for my paintings. Realy heart-warming :-) Hope to see you again at my next exhibition!

All you need to know about (soft) pastel.

(Soft) Pastel consits of 3 components:
1. Pigment.
2. Chalk.
3. Gum

The balance between the pigment, chalk and gum makes the pastel softer or harder.

If more pigment is added, the pastel gets softer. It gets harder when more chalk and gum are added to the pastel.

Therefore each hardness of pastel has its own qualities and applications.

Different kinds of Pastel:

There are different kinds of pastel, ranging from hard to soft.

Opening exhibition "ode to" in care center "Aelsmeer".

This morgning I've opened my exhibition "Ode to" in care center "Aelsmeer".

The residents were interest to here about me and painting with pastel.
After I had told about myself and the pastelpaintings, I gave a short demonstration in painting with pastel.

In the meanwhile Wilma held the microphone for me, so everyone could here my explanation while I was painting.

After this I went along the tables with "Tulip 2" and answered the questions.



Everyone got the opertunity to feel the different types of paper, from smooth to rough.

Touching and feeling the pastels was a nice experience and made them laugh about the "dirty" coloured fingers which they got from it.

They were especially surprised that you could paint with such a dry material without using a liquid.
